Continuing our conversation in Housing Executive Magazine, when the announcement that Phase Two of Awaab’s Law would come into force on the 30th of November, we turned to our resident Awaab’s expert, Board member Danny Bird to talk us through the requirements and how landlords can prepare.

Danny highlighted lessons from Phase 1, the need for teams and supply chains to
work collaboratively, and the importance of identifying gaps in systems and processes early.

Above all, he stressed that compliance must remain focused on residents understanding their experiences, managing hazards effectively and delivering safe, healthy homes.

Phase 2 is a whole-organisation challenge, requiring joined-up systems, well trained teams and a shared understanding of the legislation’s purpose.
